Chris comes from a running background competing in NCAA Division 1 Track and Cross Country at Youngstown State University. He continued running competitively after college but broke his ankle training for the Greece Olympic marathon trials which caused biomechanical difficulties leading to further knee injury. As a result he began cycling after a brief run as a duathlete where he won the Wendy’s International Duathlon and the Time Warner Outer Limits Duathlon.
In 2007 he moved to Asheville, NC and began to focus completely on cycling, competing on the Track and the Road where he won State titles in both. He plans on competing in CycloCross races this fall and winter in preparation for next year’s season.
In 2009 he plans to increase his fitness and cycling abilities and continue to win titles and gain prestige. Chris looks forward to the 2009 Masters National Road Race Championship were he was denied a podium spot as a result of a crash.
